In early 2019 I ventured to Europe, stopping first in London. While there, I played a very fun gig on a boat in the Thames with Alex Ward – barely conquering my seasickness with dramamine and eventually a number of beers. The show was a success and Alex and I got on well socially. Despite a tipsy near-fall into the Thames a few minutes after disembarking from the ship (which irrevocably ruined my favorite pair of pants), I still look back on that night fondly.

Fortunately for me, Alex was a member of the highly-lauded This is Not This Heat group, who – with their robust following and major venue monied infrastructure – were able to navigate our draconian performance visa strictures in the US. This allowed for the almost unheard-of ability for an improvising musician to play shows above board, and advertised without a pseudonym.

On both of those to trips Alex made with TINTH, he stayed with me for days in NYC allowing us to record this album in my apartment. This sat fermenting for over a year and is now available for consumption.
